Have you ever been to a Toastmasters demonstration meeting? It’s a lot of fun. If you’d like to see one or help out, check out the one being held on October 30, 2018, from 12 to 1 pm at Ashland University. Lisa Newburger, the organizer, would love your help.
Demonstration meetings are held when a new club is close to forming. Volunteers from other Toastmasters clubs get together with people who’ve expressed an interest in the potential club and put on a mini-meeting. They usually have a Toastmaster, a speaker, an evaluator, a timer, a grammarian, and a table topics master who does 2-3 table topics questions. The benefits of Toastmasters are explained, and participants have a chance to ask questions.
The meeting on October 30 is for a club forming at Ashland University. The club will be open to the community, staff, and students. Anyone is welcome to attend the demonstration meeting.
If you can help with any of the following, contact Lisa Newburger:
- Lisa needs a timer, an ah-counter/grammarian, and a toastmaster for the demo meeting.
- Do you know someone who lives or works near Ashland and might be interested in Toastmasters? Tell them about this meeting!
- The club also needs a second sponsor and two mentors.
