Below you will find the TI directive regarding 2020-2021 District Events and Speech Contests and their rationale. In addition, Toastmasters International refers to their concern for a potential "second wave of the virus, keeping a consistent experience for the speech contestants and officials throughout the various levels in all Districts," and the Board's concern for the health and safety of our members.
As mentioned at our DEC meeting, we have scheduled ALL district events to be held virtually this year due to the impact and continued impact of Covid-19. Like many of you, we miss meeting in person and seeing all of our Toastmasters friends, but the health and well-being of our members comes first.
We agree with "the Board's concern for the health and safety of our members." Because the health and safety of our members is of paramount concern, it is recommended that D10 clubs continue to meet online.
In addition to following our Toastmasters International Covid-19 Directives, we ask all members to remain in compliance with state mass gathering order and warnings of local authorities; Ohio Department of Health.
We are in the midst of change management. As leaders each of us sets the tone and pace for this change. My call to each of us is to help our clubs embrace the benefits, embrace the value, and embrace the technology.
