Introverts are Great Leaders too!

Presented by: Preeti Venkataramani, SR4

Do you have ideas which you would love to share but hesitate doing so? Is there a problem to which you know the solution, but don’t know how to get it across? Do you consider yourself an introvert?

In this workshop you will learn how to:

  • Understand your leadership style (based on your personality).
  • Effectively communicate with extroverts at work or at home.
  • Gather strategies of influential introverts.
  • Take actions which will help you step into leadership!

Getting ideas across, making an impact has various forms.  It is a misconception that only charismatic and extroverted individuals can be great leaders. Introverts are great leaders too!

Break Your Bias:  Elevate Your Leadership

Presented by: Maureen Bachman, CC, ALB

The human brain is wired to make rapid decisions.  Our hidden biases activate automatically so that we can sort through the 11 million bits of information per second that our brain takes in.  During this interactive workshop, we will discuss:

  • The definition of hidden bias.
  • Hidden bias isn’t a sign of a “bad” person, we all experience it.  We need to know our blind spots.
  • Discover how to recognize it in yourself and others and be open to rooting out and managing hidden biases.

Being self-aware of hidden biases will help you elevate your leadership skills to a new level. Being an inclusive leader has multiple layers and requires active work to eliminate biases and recognize and appreciate all people and perspectives. Let’s talk about how to do this work together!

Keeping it R.E.A.L. - Sharpening Your Storytelling Skills

Presented by: Therese Stadul, ACB, ALB, EH1

Storytelling is as important to survival as eating and breathing.  Early civilizations and cultures taught each other how to stay alive, thrive, and survive by telling stories of dangers to avoid, how to hunt and gather food, what foods were safe to eat, how to build a house, and even how to get along.  Therese invites you to come along with her on a storytelling adventure.

You will learn how to:

  • Choose a topic
  • Construct an enthralling story
  • Develop the skills to captivate the listener

Join Therese as she gets R.E.A.L about storytelling.

Afternoon Breakout Sessions

Select one session for each of the two time slots, 1:10pm-2:00pm and 2:10pm-3:00pm

"I AM"

Get ready to embrace what makes you unique and original!  In this exciting session, you will get one minute to share your “I AM” statements.  You will notice that when the statements start, they may describe physical attributes, or things people already see.  As you dig deeper, you realize that what makes you unique also defines your story.  Each of your “I AM” statements should celebrate you as an individual!

And when you listen to other "I AM" statements, you will be able to show your support, particularly for those you relate to!

Two Truths and a Lie

Get ready to share three statements about you.  Two of these statements will be true, and one will be a fib!  After sharing all three statements, the group will vote for the statement they think is a lie.  You will then reveal which statements are true, and which one is not.  Within your 90 seconds, you can share a quick story about any of your statements.

Empower My Voice: Table Topics

Do you love Table Topics?  Well then this session is for you!  This Table Topics session will be engaging and focused on empowering diverse voices.
