Did you know that once each year Toastmasters District 10 presents a corporate recognition award to a local company?
The Corporate Recognition Award recognizes organizations that show significant support for the Toastmasters program. This year, National Interstate Insurance Company of Richfield, Ohio, won the award.
Vicky Nann, Toastmasters District 10 director, and Carol Prahinski, Toastmasters Region 6 international director, presented the award at a ceremony on January 28, 2019. Accepting the award on behalf of National Interstate were Tony Prinzo, assistant vice president of human resources, and Aron Erwin, vice president of public relations for the Toastmasters of National Interstate and product analyst at National Interstate.
“National Interstate realizes the powerful advantages that having a Toastmasters club on the premises offers to their employees,” said Ms. Nann. “Toastmasters gives employees a state-of-the-art program through which they learn communication and leadership skills, and the club provides a safe and supportive environment in which they can practice those skills.”
Mr. Prinzo thanked those present at the ceremony. “Thank you all for your engagement, passion and execution as it pertains to the Toastmaster’s program! This is an excellent example of empowerment and leadership in action. While investing in yourselves, creating a sense of community, and having fun along the way, your group is setting an example of how to represent National Interstate and helping our brand thrive.
Chartered in 2017, the Toastmasters of National Interstate club has 29 members and meets every Wednesday at National Interstate’s headquarters in Richfield. The club has been doing so well that 11 members have earned individual educational awards this year, and the club itself is set to reach one of the highest achievement levels for a club in the Toastmasters program: President’s Distinguished.
