Members of District 10 … we need your help!
Youth leadership participants and youth gavel clubs are invited to compete in the District 10 Youth Humorous Speech and Table Topics Competition on October 22nd!
If you aren’t familiar with it, the Youth Leadership Program is a Toastmasters International workshop consisting of eight one- to two-hour sessions that enable participants to develop communication and leadership skills through practical experience. The program is presented during or after school, or on weekends. Participants learn to:
- Evaluate present speaking ability
- Organize and give speeches
- Give impromptu talks
- Control voice, vocabulary and gestures
- Give constructive feedback and more
The District 10 Youth Humorous Speech and Table Topics Competition is the first-ever youth-oriented contest for District 10. The contest will run just like the adult version, and the winners will have the chance to perform their winning speech at the District 10 Conference on November 5th prior to the District competition.

Doors open at 9:00, Contestant briefing at 9:30. Contest at 10:00 until over.
How you can help!
Pass the word onto anyone you know that is participating in youth leadership or a gavel club. Depending on signups, we may break it into age groups, but not sure yet how that will work.
This is a work in progress and hopefully will be enough of a success we can do it again this Spring for the International Speech competition. It could actuate parents into joining Toastmasters and we think this is a great marketing tool for Toastmasters.
