A Simple Technique To Advertise Your Club

Do you know you need to advertise your club but wondered how to do it?

crowdatpresentationHere is one example of what Cleveland Clinic Toastmasters did to create awareness at their organization.

Club President Donna Komidar wrote a short article titled “5 Tips to Improve Public Speaking Skills”.  She wrote her five tips, and then closed the article with a call to action to visit Toastmasters.

Next, club VP of Public Relations Joe Milicia submitted the article to be published on the Clinic’s internal website for employees.

Donna’s article was accepted for publishing, and appeared on the Cleveland Clinic intranet on April 24, 2014.  The Cleveland Clinic has over 45,000 employees worldwide, so Donna’s article received a lot of notice.

The next time you’re looking for a simple way to promote your club, especially if you’re at a company-based club with it’s own intranet, consider writing a short helpful article and submitting it for publication!

  1. It would be interesting to track how many Cleveland Clinic employees inquire about their club or become a guest as a direct result of the article. Donna, I hope you can give us a follow up in 30 and 60 days. I like the idea. Nice job.

      I immediately received written feedback from several employees including an invitation to give a presentation to the GOAL organization which are up and coming young Executive leaders here at the clinic. Our new president elect is a member as a direct resutl of my initial presentation to this organization a few years ago. Will keep track and let you know how it goes.
